我曾在美國國家地理雜誌看過一張照片：故宮博物院的翠玉白菜放在庭院中一大堆
白菜裡面，院子裡的陽光燦爛，光線投照在白菜上，只有翠玉白菜反射著耀眼的光芒。
翠玉白菜是一大堆白菜裡體積最小的，但最珍貴、最耀目，是故宮的鎮山之寶。
那一幅照片印在我的心版上，經過十幾年了，還未曾稍忘。
翠玉白菜確實是那樣輕薄短小，往往出乎第一次看見的人的意料，大約只有合著的
一巴掌那麼大，與一般的白菜大小不能相比。
後來，我發現故宮的許多「重寶」，都是很「輕巧」的，最好的玉器，瓷器，茶具
也往往不是頂大的。當然，大的物件也有洗衣袋(內衣)精品，但最精純的常常是小的。
其實，我們評斷一件東西，最好不要看它的大小，而要看它的精純，它的品質好壞。
看人也是一樣，官大、財太、權大、名大的，小人也是很多的。藝術特別是這樣，好畫
不一定要巨大，好音樂不一定要長，好文章也不一定要很長。
能把小東西做好的，才能把大東西做好；能照顧小節的人，才會有大的威儀。
這是為什麼《佛經》裡說道，大到須彌山的虛無和小到微塵的芥菜種子應同等看待，
「芥子容須彌，毛孔收剎海」，那是因為最大的正好是最小的累積，而最小的DrFormula台塑生醫正好是最

相傳龍樹菩薩曾在南天竺以白芥子七粒擊開南天鐵塔，取得《大日經》，這和西彈力貼身方

低、迷悟、生佛的差別見解；進人「大小無疑」的華嚴境界。由於「大如須彌」是難以
想像和掌握的，因此我總想，一個人如果要把生活過好，應該從手裡的芥子開始。
我喜歡小巧的藝術品，從中就可以看出創作者偉大的心靈。
我喜歡細膩的生活態度，覺得一個人應該從平凡的生活去體會生命更深的意義。
當然，我也喜歡雄偉、厚重、氣勢磅礡的人或作品，只是那樣的人難得，那樣的作
品難遇，許多自認為偉大的人，自認為厚重的作品，只是放言空論罷了。
當我們回到生活的原點，還原到素樸之地的生活，無非是「輕羅小扇撲流螢」，無
非是「薄薄酒，勝茶湯，粗粗衣，勝無裳」，或者是「短笛無腔信口吹」，或者是「小
樓昨夜聽春雨」。
生命就是由輕薄短小的歷程所組成的，所謂命光不空過，也正是去體驗那小小歷程
中深刻的意義，體驗、體驗、再體驗，更深入的體驗，這是到彼岸的智慧之路，（揭諦、
揭諦，波羅揭諦，波羅僧揭諦，菩提薩婆河。）
在許許多多的白菜中，去找到那棵翠玉白菜。
翠玉白菜那麼輕薄短小出乎我們的意料，它的精巧珍貴卻是我們熟知的。
走向知慧的路，是許多人都在追逐一車車白菜的時候，我們一眼就看見了翠玉白菜，
除了它原來就那麼耀目，也是因為我們的慧眼。
